I want that badge.
Anyways, I ended up joining devart 3 (going on 4) years ago nearly immediately after my first anime convention, as I remember it. I ended up wanting to join the community so I could actively search for cosplay photos that were taken of me at conventions and also post my artwork that I had been drawing and had just started to work with digital art. I knew a lot of the artists on devart from my youtube where I had followed a lot of people that had talked about their devarts and was introduced to the site through artists like Spotty, Tina, Jenna, Tacky, and Chii24. By the time I had become a deviant I had been posting art and, after some time, decided to move some of the older art into a folder so I could remember them without the anguish that comes with looking at your old art. Now I post every once in a while. I had started with MS Paint, went on to GIMP 2, and then got Portable SAI through a friend and practiced. Now I'm here.
To explicate what I'm featuring in this journal:
This piece was done by an artist I came to admire early on (I also used to be a pretty rabid KakaIru fanatic at that time) and this person rarely posts anymore, sadly. I still look over their old art whenever I get the KakaIru bug or I want to source a famous drawing of Kakashi. A lot of the time, that famous Kakashi work came from Mockingbyrd
(who this artwork belongs to) or Abz-J-Harding
(I love Harding's headcanon drawings for Kakashi's face, btw).
This art was done by Eberalovfun7
and we used to be in a youtube group called the Sassy Mice Productions together. She was another one of the reasons why I went to devart. Not only that, but she's been killing it with her artwork for a long time and y'all should check her out. She's been working hard and she always has been (a lot harder than me lol).
I feature twinfools
because this man is probably 80% of the reason why I cosplay and strive to know more about the transgender and lgbtq communities. He's always been very amicable and eager to speak to his fans and is always open to displaying his processes so that more people can learn about issues affecting transmen and transwomen's health as well as offering support for fans that just need some quick information about how to help themselves or what to do in a bad situation. I've always attempted to walk as he does but I'm still a long ways away and I'm thankful for the times I've been able to reach out to him and also be educated by his videos and his everyday way of being himself.Spottedfire-cat
is most of the reason why I have any experience in drawing animals and has also been a lot of the reason why I came to devart. She's always a pleasure to see popping up in my devart messages and it's been wonderful to watch her progress since I first started watching her videos on youtube. She's someone I've watched for a long time and I don't plan on unwatching any time soon.
I wanted to feature this artwork because the game Okami was one of the best games I've ever had the pleasure of playing and replaying. Just the fact that Soul Eater is added here is better. The artist, Beeju
, isn't someone I watch but this person has improved since the time that I added a favorite to this deviation and has always held a love of the game Okami deeper than my own and I respect that greatly. Also Soul Eater was a great manga /justsayin
